Seniors Brock Rider and Ruby Wasserman were crowned the SM East homecoming kind and queen at the beginning of the game. All ten of the candidates on the homecoming court were escorted down the field by their families before the winners were announced.
The first quarter included two rushing touchdowns from senior Jack Reeves, with his last a rush of 78 yards. At the end of the first quarter the Lancers were leading 14-0. The second quarter began with an interception by senior Davis Eakes which was followed by a 20-yard passing touchdown to sophomore Thomas Vanice. A two point conversion was scored after Vanice went on to score another touchdown in a 46 yard rush. Reeves finished the second quarter with a 51-yard rushing touchdown. The score to end the half had the Lancers ahead 35-7.
During halftime the varsity Lancer Dancers performed their Squabble Up routine choreographed by seniors Lyla Weeks, Jane Rasmussen and Macy Fore. The color guard and marching band followed the Squabble Up routine with their Barouquen Glass routine. The third quarter consisted of a 67-yard rushing touchdown from Jack Reeves and a touchdown retaliated by the bison. The Lancers held their lead against the Bison 42-14 to conclude the third quarter. With a 15-yard pass from Senior Tucker Ward to senior Quentin Ochs, the Lancers scored their seventh touchdown of the night. After a final North touchdown, the final score was 49-21.
The boys varsity football team will play their next game against the Olathe West Owls on Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. at Olathe West High School.
