SM South hosted the annual Dig Pink Night to raise awareness for breast cancer. The varsity volleyball team fell to the SM Northwest Cougars 2-0. In the first set neither team led by more than three points and the set went into overtime. However, after a dropped ball, the team lost the first set 29 – 27. The second set started out similar to the first, with the score staying close. However, when the score was tied at 8 – 8, the Cougars went on multiple serving runs resulting in an eleven point lead but the Lancers closed the gap to only six points with serving runs by senior Macy Sims and freshman Alaina Mcquire. The cougars defeated the lancers 25 -19. After the game there was an auction and raffle was held to fundraise for the event.
