In a meet that ended with cold chicken and rain, the boys and girls varsity track and field team placed first overall in their seventh meet of the season. The girls team led by 24 points overall and the boys led by six points overall. First place finishes in the meet included senior Ike Sheets in the 100m, senior Mary Cronin in the triple jump and the girls 4×800. The 4×800 event consisted of seniors Jade Achen, Rowan Divadeenam and Mary Cronin and freshmen Catherine Beltrame and Chloe Swan.
The next varsity track meet will be on Friday, May 5 at SM North, beginning at 2:00 p.m. This year’s North relays will be the 71st annual year of the event. The track team will also be hosting a carwash fundraiser on Saturday, May 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to raise money for state.
