In their final home game of the season, the Lancers fell to SM South on senior night, Friday, Feb, 24. During the first quarter, junior Abigail Long surpassed the school record of the most three-pointers made in a season, making 62 three-pointers baskets this season. “I was not expecting to break the record this season because I was out for the beginning of the season with an injury,” Long said. “It truly came as a surprise.” Long also holds the school’s record for the most career three-pointers with 149 as a junior. At the end of the first quarter, SM South lead the game 17-6. At halftime, the score was 28-11 with SM South in the lead. Ending the third quarter, the score was 35-26 in favor of SM South. In the end, the Lancers fell to SM South 53-42. There was a ceremony after the game honoring girls and boys seniors including Riley Eck, Cate Holzbeierlein, Reese Birch and Sophia Hunt for girls. The team finished the regular season with a record of 4-16.
The Lancers are scheduled to play their next game on Wednesday, March 1 against BV North at BV North at 7 p.m. in their first round of substate.
