Gallery: Band Car Wash

The tune of “Sweet Caroline” played from the corner of 75th and Mission as band members held signs advertising their annual car wash which took place on Saturday, Aug 20th in the front circle drive at Shawnee Mission East. The band held their car wash on the same morning as the Lancer Dancer Pancake Breakfast to attract more customers. The money they raised is going towards funding their program and replacing percussion equipment.

About the Contributors

Emily Pollock, Photo Mentor

Senior Emily Pollock is going into her last year on The Harbinger as a photo mentor. She is excited to spend her senior year at deadlines, in the J-room and on many photo adventures. Outside of The Harbinger she’s involved in tennis, swimming, DECA and lacrosse. When she isn’t shooting, you can find her at Starbucks, Barnes and Noble or hanging with her friends. Emily cannot wait to see what the year brings on The Harbinger.

Liv Madden, Photo Editor

Entering her third and final year on staff, senior Liv Madden is ready to set a good example and be a great leader as Head photo editor. While she is not sitting in the back of the journalism room with her fellow staff members, she enjoys playing Lacrosse, being a member of the student store, and competing in DECA.

Mason Sajna, Video Editor

As a fourth year harbinger staffer, senior Mason Sajna is excited to be a leader on staff this year as a Video Editor, Photo Mentor and Equipment Manager. When he isn’t in the J room editing a video or trying to find some tripod piece, Mason is running as a varsity track and cross country runner and is in five AP classes. When things finally slow down, Mason likes to spend his free time with his friends or just hang out at home.

Alex Sajna, Video Editor

Working on his third year on Harbinger staff, senior Alex Sajna is thrilled to lead the video team as a Video Editor and take pictures as a Photographer. Besides Harbinger, Alex runs cross country and track, takes AP classes and works part time. When he’s not in the J-room, you can find Alex working on his car, making up a cross country practice late at night, or hanging out with family and friends.

Riley Eck, Photo Mentor

Senior Riley Eck is eager to start her second year on staff as a photo mentor. When she is not taking photos or writing captions, you may find her in the SHARE room talking about upcoming volunteer events, in the Student Store trying to get people to do their jobs or working on endless amounts of homework. In the little free time Riley has, the chances are she is buying candles, teaching her dog new tricks in German or signing herself up for new, time consuming, activities.

MJ Wolf, Staff Photographer

Senior Mj Wolf is so excited to start her sixth semester on staff as a photographer. In addition to Harbinger, Mj is one of the SHARE chairs on the Breast Cancer Awareness Bake Sale and Unleashed projects. When she isn’t shooting galleries, you’ll find her watching movies with friends, cooking with family or trying a new coffee shop. Mj can’t wait to see what this year brings and is pumped to capture her senior year.

Lydia Coe, Staff Photographer

Senior Lydia Coe is entering her second semester on staff as a photographer, and is excited to apply her new skills that she has learned in Dallas. Some other things Lydia is a part of are SHARE, DECA, National Honors Society, National Charity League and one of the new managers of East’s coffee shop, Columbia Brew. In her free time, you would catch her nannying, hanging out with friends, listening to music, going on walks or hosting at the South Plaza Mission Taco Joint. Lydia is very excited to see what this new semester holds.
