The Lancer freshman baseball team fell to Lawrence Free State 17-9 on Wednesday, April 20. In the first inning of the game, Free State scored eight times. Around the fourth inning, the opposing team had scored 13 times, while East had only scored seven times. “It was a tough loss, but the wins are coming, I can feel it, we just need to bond a little bit as a team and work together”, said freshman Jack Trusty. Lawrence Free State continued to score throughout the rest of the seven innings played. The team’s current season record is 3-6.
The team’s next game will be played on Wednesday, April 27 at 3 p.m. against rival Rockhurst High School. The away game will take place at Rockhurst High School.
