At Senior Night, the girls varsity basketball team defeated Shawnee Mission North 42-37 on Feb. 25. Since there were only four seniors, all of them started. With 5:28 left in the second quarter, sophomore Abigail Long broke the school record for the most three-pointers scored in a season with the last record from 2003. She also was the highest scorer of the game with 23 points. The game was close throughout but the team scored many three-pointers and drew fouls to pull ahead at the end. The Lancer Dancers performed at halftime before leaving to go to Nationals on March 3. They will be dancing at Nationals on March 4-6.
This was the last regular-season game and their record finished as 7-13. Their next game is Substate at Blue Valley on March 1 at 7 p.m.
