The Lancers varsity football team entered their first-round playoff matchup against the 2–6 Blue Valley West Jaguars looking to extend their season. The Jaguars struck first, scoring on their opening drive in under three minutes. The Lancers responded quickly, thanks to a 51-yard run from senior Davis Eakes that set them up at the one-yard line and led to a touchdown.
Blue Valley West regained the lead with about five minutes left in the first quarter, but the Lancers answered again with a steady drive that carried into the second quarter, tying the game early in the period. Momentum shifted soon after when the Jaguars intercepted a Lancer screen pass for a pick-six, then followed it up by blocking a punt on the next drive after forcing a quick three-and-out.
Neither team scored in the third quarter as both defenses held firm. In the fourth, the Lancers recovered a fumble deep in Blue Valley West’s backfield and capitalized on the turnover when senior quarterback Trey Pendleton connected with senior Paxton Ochs for a 76-yard touchdown.
The Lancers ended their season on Oct. 31, 5-4 after the playoff loss to Blue Valley West.
