Various artists to live stream virtual concerts during quarantine

While essential front-line workers such as doctors and police officers help us stay safe at home, non-essential entertainers have found their own ways to keep up the spirits of their fans and provide some distraction — and charity — during these times. Some artists have teamed up with various charities to raise donations for those in need and keep us sane at the same time.

Offset and Friends

To benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Offset, Young Thug, Rich the Kid and Saint Jhn have teamed up for a single-night event on April 29 from 6-8 p.m. Viewers will be able to enjoy the rappers’ music live via the Oculus Venues app and Offset’s Facebook page. In this one-night-only charity event, viewers can donate to the food bank using the donate button on the rapper’s Facebook page. For every $1 donated, four meals will be provided to the seniors, families and children of Atlanta. Raised in metro Atlanta, Offset aims to give back to his community and has already donated 200,000 meals.

As Print Co-Editor-in-Chief, senior Francesca Stamati knows by now what to expect when walking into the J-room: cackle-laugh fits at inappropriate times, an eye-roll or two from Tate (who is secretly smirking) and impassioned debates with people who care way too much about fonts. But her experience doesn’t make 2 a.m. deadlines any less thrilling. In her last year on staff, Francesca has her eyes wide open to learn something new — whether it’s how to edit a story in less than an hour, or how many AP style jokes she can crack before Co-Editor Peyton Moore hits the ground. »
