Vaccination Update: When it’s projected to reach teenagers

Sophie Henschel | The Harbinger Online

It’s projected that children and teens won’t receive vaccination until late summer. As Pfizer and Moderna are in the process of testing their vaccines on children 12 and older, they hope to have their results in by summer. Depending on those results, the companies will begin testing on younger age groups. There are three other companies — Johnson & Johnson, Novavax and AstraZeneca — also planning to test their vaccines on younger age groups, but are farther behind. Although it may be months in the future, the vaccination of children will be a necessity in herd immunity, and will push COVID-19 closer to a halt.
