Sweetheart Queen, King and Attendants Crowned

East’s 2020 sweetheart queen, king and attendants were announced tonight at halftime during the boys’ varsity basketball game.

Of the 20 senior candidates, six were crowned. Maggie Schutt was crowned queen and Nick Arensburg was crowned king. The queen’s first attendant was Gretchen Raedle and the king’s first attendant was Ben Walburn. Ryan Gossick was the queen’s second attendant and Lilah Powlas was the king’s second attendant.

Alumnus Riley Kimmel, last year’s sweetheart queen’s second attendant, returned to East to crown Schutt queen at the game.

“It was crazy because everyone was screaming and I was just like, ‘Ahh I don’t know what to do!’” Schutt said. “It was just kind of surreal.”

The WPA was held in East’s cafeteria last Saturday night. StuCo hosted the event and the theme was Club Penguin.
