Spark’d Disappointment: Dunkin’s new SPARK’D energy drink line isn’t worth the money

Dunkin’ released a new SPARK’D energy drink line throughout the end of February featuring two flavors — Wild Berry and Peach Mango.

As an energy drink addict, I decided to replace my daily Alani Nu or Celsius and see if the new Dunkin’ drinks gave me the same caffeine buzz while also satisfying my craving for a fruity drink.

I started with the Peach Mango and immediately wanted my $3 back.

After the first sip, I couldn’t tell if I was drinking an energy drink or just a cup of sparkling water. The drink had a peachy color and no flavor. However when I reached the bottom, the sparkling water tasted more like a tropical cough syrup. All the syrup had sunk to the bottom of the drink despite how many times I mixed my cup trying to mix the flavor in hopes of some sort of peach taste.

I also felt just as tired as I did before the drink, leaving me wondering why I even put myself through drinking that entire vile cup.

I would much rather go pick up a Celsius then have to down this drink reluctantly.

The next day I returned unwillingly, back for the Wild Berry flavor.

My first sip of this was immaculately more pleasant. It had a strong berry flavor without being overpowering and the sweetness that a Celsius or Alani Nu would have.

It also maintained this flavor throughout the drink, though I had to mix it a few times to avoid the syrups sinking to the bottom.

Unlike my regular energy drink though, I was still missing that gust of caffeine to get me through my chemistry quiz.

I’ll be sticking to my regular energy drinks for my caffeine fills, not this new line.
