The girls’ volleyball team will take on SM South in a Varsity Dual in the Auxiliary gym this evening on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. Tonight is Senior Night for the team, with seniors Jamie Maddox, Katherine Stiegemeyer, Savannah Bellem, Rowan Turner, Corey Kirkpatrick, and Gabby Lintner being honored.
The team participated in a tournament in Atchison, KS over the weekend against many 4A schools. The team got fourth place out of 12 teams.
“The tournament was very long but I think we played pretty well,” senior Jamie Maddox said. “The games were all really close and we played some pretty tough teams.”
The team had previously lost to Olathe North 25-15 and 25-17 and Lawrence High School 25-15 and 25-14 on Thursday, Oct. 10. However the team has high hopes for the game against South
“I’m looking forward to playing South because it’s pretty fun, they’re our rivalries,” Maddox said. “They’re not much that better than us, we are pretty evenly matched.”
