Congratulations to the debaters for placing at all 3 tournaments this last weekend!
At the Bishop Miege novice tournament, the squad placed 2nd in Sweepstakes. Individually, Ada Throckmorton and Utsa Ramaswami took 8th Place with a 4-1 record. The team of Max Werner and Michele White went 4-1, but missed placing on speaker points. The team of Chase Derusseau and Jamie McDonald finished with a 3-2 record.
At the Topeka tournament, the team of Maddie Bavley and Jack Mitchell advanced to quarter-finals in varsity and placed 4th, earning a bid to the Debate Coaches’ Invitational in January. The team of Susie McClannahan and Anna Bernard finished in the top 16 in varsity, earning their second DCI bid, officially qualifying the team for DCI.
At St. Thomas Aquinas, the team of Alex Moskowitz and Austin Miller advanced to quarterfinals in varsity, placing 4th.
