News Brief: Used Book Sale will be Oct. 23

From East librarian Chris Larson:

This year SHARE has invited the library to hold their Used Book Sale at the same time as the annual Garage Sale. The date for these events is Saturday, Oct. 23. To increase the number of donations for the book sale, the freshmen class and the library are sponsoring a book drive from now until Oct. 19 among seminar classes.

Here’s how the competition will work. All seminar teachers will receive a sack in their mailbox for donations. Students may either bring books to seminar or drop them off at the library from 7:00-3:30. Students need to ensure the book bags are labeled with the teacher’s name. Freshmen class officers or library volunteers will tally the donations. The winning class will receive a pizza party, and two runners up will receive donut parties.

Since our library budget has been reduced by over 60%, the Used Book Sale is important in helping us maintain our program.
