Hella What? Kill

Hella What? Kill is a newly formed East-based band that offers a “mixture of old school hip hop and everything from metal to polka,” according to band member Sam Haynes. “Trip hop, basically,” Haynes said.

And if HWK’s unique hip-hop style didn’t make it stand out, then the band’s live on-stage stunts ranging from shaving a band member’s head to burning a JOCO sign sure did the trick.

“We’re all about theatrics,” band member Fritz Hutchison said.

Haynes attributes HWK’s ability to be comfortable and pull off some of these stunts on stage to the long-standing friendships between its members, most of whom attended the same grade school.

“We all have a really special bond and shows just bring us together a ton and get everyone pysched up and carefree,” Haynes said. “It’s almost like putting on some sort of play or bizzare circus.”

With a strong history of friendship and an original music style, Hella What? Kill hopes to one day go on tour, sharing its mayhem of ridiculous stunts and memorable performances with the rest of the country.
