Breaking: SME is allowing Halloween costumes at school again

Students can wear their Halloween costumes to school the Friday before Halloween weekend for the first time since 2019. The news was announced by Student Body President and senior Campbell Wood during the 7 a.m. StuCo meeting today.

According to Student Body Vice President and senior TongTong Yi, student council execs met with associate principal Dr. Susan Leonard at their weekly meetings requesting to bring back the ability to dress up. Leonard approved the request under given regulations, and the council heads announced the news to the rest of StuCo at today’s meeting.

All StuCo members will be handing out assorted candy to students who dress in their costumes on Friday in order to promote the event coming back.

The regulations for dressing up Friday are that the students must be recognizable, can’t have any form of face-covering (aside from a COVID-19 mask) and can’t bring any sort of weapon or decoy weapon as an accessory to their costume.
