Grass Fed: Double Chocolate Protein Shake

“You’re a vegetarian? You can’t possibly be getting enough protein can you?”

I can’t even count how many times I have heard this over the past five years of maintaining my vegetarian lifestyle. Although it can sometimes be difficult balancing my diet to receive enough protein, I get a little bit of help from this bad boy.

I have one of these double-chocolate protein smoothies for a meal replacement almost every day and it still doesn’t get old. It’s so quick and easy to make, making it the perfect thing to down when you’re scrambling for time during your 25 minute lunch period.

carol banana Not only does it taste like a chocolate milkshake, but it also contains two servings of fruits and vegetables AND 22 grams of protein. The chocolate flavor completely masks the taste of the greens, making it the perfect thing to curb your sweet tooth and get an added dose of veggies without even knowing it.

carol protein powder You can use any brand of chocolate protein powder but the PlantFusion brand is my favorite. It’s a little bit pricey, but it’s definitely worth it. Unlike a lot of protein powders I’ve tried the PlantFusion brand tastes great and doesn’t have gritty texture. It’s also made from completely plant based proteins, has a low glycemic index and contains 18 different amino acids.

You don’t need to be a football player, or in weights class or even a vegetarian to enjoy this delicious shake. With just five minutes and a few simple ingredients, anyone can easily add a nutritious and delicious boost to their everyday diet.
