Gallery: Varsity Track and Field Meet against Shawnee Mission Schools in Districts

SM East Varsity track competed in Districts against SM North, SM Northwest, SM South, and SM West on Thursday, April 15. The boys won and the girls got second overall in the meet. Grace Meyer, Grace Strongman, and Price Terrill moved to the Gold Level in the 800 m, Wyatt Haughton in 1600 m and 3200 m, Trace Huston in Discus, and Sarah Bingham in Javelin. The track pyramid is a series of distances and times that athletes can get to Gold, Silver, or Bronze in their event.

Varsity’s next meet will take place on April 23 at SM West at 3:30 pm. The meet is an invitational against SM West.

Going into her senior year as a Photo Editor, Rachel cannot be more excited for her final year on Harbinger. When she’s not taking pictures on the sidelines at a game or scrambling for a photostory design, you may find her playing volleyball, throwing in track, at a SHARE project or going on a QuikTrip ice cream run with friends. »

Taylor Keal

Taylor Keal
Beginning her third year on the Harbinger staff as a photo mentor, Taylor Keal is excited to get back in the swing of shooting clubs, games, classes, and other east events. Taylor enjoys photography so much that she even started carrying around a small yellow digital camera with her wherever she goes to capture the best moments. When she’s not behind the camera, she is at her studio, Starstruck, dancing. In between dancing and photoing you can find Taylor participating in her other activities which include student store, DECA, SHARE, LINK crew and NHS. Outside of activities, Taylor enjoys hanging out with friends, taking naps, and going to McDonalds. »

Jill Rice

Sophomore Jill Rice is excited for her first year as a staff photographer. She can not wait to capture all the moments this unpredictable school year has instored for students. When she isn't snapping photos, you can find her at cheer or gymnastics practice. To wind down at night, she enjoys a nice green tea and watching hours of TikTok and Netflix. Jill can not wait to meet so many new people and become part of the Harbinger family. »

Senior Tristen Porter is going into her third year on staff as a photographer. Tristen is so excited to finish her years off strong and can’t wait to see what the year has in store. Tristen loves capturing moments for people to reminisce on for years to come. When she is not carving out time to go shoot any sports event possible, Tristen enjoys hanging out with her friends and being a host at Grunauer with her awesome coworkers, or modeling for Style Muse Magazine. »
