Gallery: Varsity Soccer Game vs. Lawrence Free State

The SM East Lancers took on the Free State Firebirds on Thursday night, with the game ending tied 1-1. Prior to the start of the game, the Lancers hosted senior night, with recognition of all of the senior varsity players. Throughout the first half, the Lancers played defensively, consistently blocking the Firebirds’ attempts at scoring. At the half, there was still no score. In the second half, Freestate scored a goal on senior goalkeeper Brandon McGaugh, shortly followed by a goal for the Lancers by sophomore Caden Nicholson. At the end of regular time, the score was still tied and the game went into double overtime. At the end of the double overtime, the score remained 1-1.
