Gallery: Varsity Girls Soccer Falls To Olathe South 2-1

After a back and forth game the Lancers lost to Olathe South on April 16 in overtime, with a final score of 2-1. The only goal scored by East was scored 23 minutes into the second half when junior Sophia Griggs headed the ball into the goal after a assist from freshman Lauren Mercer. No events took place in the remaining 17 minutes of the game ending regulation 1-1. East started overtime winning the coin toss and electing to take the ball. Starting with the ball in overtime was not enough for the lancer to get a win however four minutes in Olathe South found themselves on a counterattack that led to a goal ending the game 2-1.

The next varsity game will be played against Olathe West on April 23 at 7 p.m. at the College Boulevard Activity Center.
