Gallery: Varsity Football Homecoming Game vs. Lawrence Freestate

The Lancers lost to the Lawrence Freestate Freebirds 30-36 Friday night in East’s Homecoming Game. For the first time, both Homecoming King and Queen were crowned at halftime of the game rather than in years past where only the Queen is crowned at the game and the King is crowned at the Homecoming dance the following night. Staying with tradition, East alum and the 2017 Homecoming Queen, Toni Englund, came back from The University of Kansas to present the King and Queen their crowns. Junior members of Student Council presented the attendants with theirs. The first to be announced were Second Attendants which went to seniors PJ Spencer(king) and Olivia Caponecchi(queen). Next announced were first attendants which were won by seniors Seth Arvesen(king) and Hannah Phillips(queen). Finally, King and Queen were announced and seniors Jack Melvin(king) and Maggie Gray(queen) were crowned.
