On Friday night the Lancers faced off against the SM North Bison at SM North stadium for Friday night lights. The Lancers were coming into the game with a record of 0-3 after a loss to Lawrence High last Friday in double over time. The Lancers started the game out with a touchdown from junior Nate Phillips on a rushing touchdown. In the second quarter, senior Luke Pearcy was the last Lancer to score before the Bison scored their first touchdown. Then in the third quarter the Lancers came out with a fourth down stop that lead to a touchdown by senior Hayden Falley. Then on the defensive end the Lancers gave up one touchdown in the third quarter with a blocked PAT attempt and two fumble recoveries and another fourth down stop. In the fourth quarter the Lancer started with a 48 yard td from sophomore Jack Reeves to increase the lead to 28-13. The Bison had a receiving touchdown to close all scoring and went for a onside kick from the kickoff that was successful the first time but called back because of a double kick on the onside kick and then on the second attempt for a on side kick the ball was recovered before ten yards resulting in a Lancer ball to end the game. The Lancers next game is at home against SM West on Friday Sep 29.
