Gallery: Varsity Football Defeats Rival Shawnee Mission South 37-28

The boys’ varsity football team defeated the Shawnee Mission South Raiders 37-28 on their Friday night game that also hosted senior night for Band and the Lancer Dancers. After a quick touchdown by the Lancers, the Raiders responded with a touchdown of their own. The game followed the same back and forth scoring pattern until the 4th quarter when the Lancers broke away with the lead after a touchdown by senior Cade Eldred. Then the Lancers finished with a complete two-point conversion after a pass to senior Jacob Johnson by quarterback Price Terrill. “Everyone was really hyped up before the game which made a spark for our team, as this was our first win,” said senior player Ryan Staehr. “Nobody wanted to lose to South because we haven’t in 12 years, so that really pushed everyone to work harder.”
