Gallery: Varsity Boys Soccer Tie SM West 3-3

Playing two rounds of overtime and players dropping each minute from cramps, the boys varsity soccer team tied their first game of the season 3-3 against SM West. In the first five minutes of the game, SM West scored the only goal in the first half. Starting the second half, senior Ryan Grinstead scored 10 minutes in to tie the game 1-1. Alternating goals, both the Lancers and SM West each scored two more times in the second half. With goals by seniors Willan Shrock and Ike Sheets, regular time ended tied 3-3. Two 10 minutes periods of overtime were played, and no shots were successfully scored.

The Lancer’s next match will be played on Sept 6 in the Kamo Tournament, time and location to be determined.

Macy Crosser
Photo Editor Macy Crosser believes there is no better way to spend her senior year than capturing photos or proofing captions in the J-room for Harbinger! If you can’t reach her (and you probably won’t), Crosser is either at drill team choreo, Kansas City Ballet, AP and IB classes, NHS Service chair meetings, TCP President duties or at dive team. Good luck finding her! In any spare time she has, there is a good chance she’s watching the sunset while listening to Taylor Swift, Celsius in hand. »

Sabrina Dean

Sabrina Dean
Senior Sabrina Dean is sad to say it is her final year on The Harbinger. After 4 semesters of being on staff, none of which in an actual Harbinger class, she is thrilled to grow as a photographer. When she isn't waiting impatiently for her raw photos to load, you can find Dean buried in a pile of work from her IB Diploma classes, finding ways to make herself more busy, or playing for The SME Senate soccer team! Being a part of various clubs, NHS, Link Crew, SHARE Chairing, and Advisory Boards doesn’t stop Sabrina from having fun! When she is begging for a mental break she will be driving for coffee with her friends, figuring out how to become unbanned from snapchat, or working as a Lifeguard or a host at the French Market. All of this, of course, could not be done without Second Best Coffee or her dog, Taco, by her side. »

Senior Kate Beaulieu is going into her third and final year on Harbinger as a Staff Photographer. When Kate isn’t taking sports photos, specifically lacrosse ones, she can be found babysitting, rewatching 10 Things I Hate About You, and hanging out with friends. During school hours, Kate is taking AP classes, playing tennis, being social media coordinator for the Freelancer, being a chair for Unified Teams, and playing varsity lacrosse. »

Starting her second semester as a staff photographer, sophomore Seri Steinbrecher couldn’t be more excited for what this year has to offer. If she’s not busy editing photos or writing captions, she enjoys playing tennis, going for late night drives, listening to new music and bugging staffer Addie Moore to shoot “student life” with her. »
