Gallery: SME Cheer Float Building

The Shawnee Mission Cheer team built their Lancer Day float over a span of two days. Everyone on the team was assigned a day to help with the building, either Sept. 13 or Sept. 14. The float’s main colors consist of black, white and gold to represent the theme, The Great Gatsby. “We chose Great Gatsby out of a couple choices just because we all wanted to be dressed up similar and we liked the idea of being in flapper girl outfits,” said senior Sam Herpich. The team worked together to complete their float by Friday, Sept. 16 so it will be ready to drive down Mission Road in the Lancer Day Parade.
