Scraps KC is a nonprofit organization that aims to supply teachers and artists with cheap art supplies. It acts as an arts and crafts thrift store, that keeps prices cheap from art donations. They repurpose everything, right down to the scraps!

This is junior Emma Kate Squires’ second semester as a staff photographer. To give you a quick idea of the level of overcommitment she puts on herself, she’s in six school clubs and is incredibly committed to both debate and Harbinger. In the rare moments when she isn’t stressing over school, she loves to experiment with art: painting, embroidery, chalk art, and of course, photography. She’s so excited to explore what this unique year provides for our publication! »

Sophomore Jill Rice is excited for her first year as a staff photographer. She can not wait to capture all the moments this unpredictable school year has instored for students. When she isn't snapping photos, you can find her at cheer or gymnastics practice. To wind down at night, she enjoys a nice green tea and watching hours of TikTok and Netflix. Jill can not wait to meet so many new people and become part of the Harbinger family. »

Emily Pollock
Senior Emily Pollock is going into her last year on The Harbinger as a photo mentor. She is excited to spend her senior year at deadlines, in the J-room and on many photo adventures. Outside of The Harbinger she’s involved in tennis, swimming, DECA and lacrosse. When she isn’t shooting, you can find her at Starbucks, Barnes and Noble or hanging with her friends. Emily cannot wait to see what the year brings on The Harbinger. »
