Gallery: Lancer Dancer Innovative Game Day Showcase

The JV and Varsity Lancer Dancers debuted their Game Day Routine, consisting of a fight song, sideline, and hip hop routine, at the Innovative Dance Choreography Showcase hosted by SME on Saturday, Nov 6. The three dances were put together along with transitions and chants to create a full three-minute routine. Nine schools attended the showcase, each performing their own routine for judges to get critiques. Each team attended a 1-hour long cleaning session with an instructor from the program to perfect the dance. The showcase was intended for teams to get corrections on their routines to prepare for the Game Day State competition.

The Varsity Lancer Dancers will perform their Game Day routine at State in Topeka on Friday, Nov. 19. This will be the first time that the team attends state, for it is a new competition in Kansas.

Photo Editor Macy Crosser believes there is no better way to spend her senior year than capturing photos or proofing captions in the J-room for Harbinger! If you can’t reach her (and you probably won’t), Crosser is either at drill team choreo, Kansas City Ballet, AP and IB classes, NHS Service chair meetings, TCP President duties or at dive team. Good luck finding her! In any spare time she has, there is a good chance she’s watching the sunset while listening to Taylor Swift, Celsius in hand. »
