Gallery and Recap: Girls Varsity Volleyball Duals DeSoto

On Tuesday Oct. 4, the Lady Lancers volleyball team took on DeSoto at home. The Lancers pulled out yet another win, winning three straight sets in their dual, which is best out of 5. The final score in the first set was 25-22, the second was 25-20 and the third was 25-15.

The girls are ranked 8th in the state, and 398th in the nation. The team has had a successful season thus far with a record of 21 wins and 6 losses. Compared to previous years, they have a much better record.

According to maxprep.com, senior Ally Offerdahl was the player of the game. Offerdahl had 1 ace, 3 kills, 3 blocks, 37 assists and 8 digs.

“[Offerdahl] can put a good ball up to our hitters no matter the pass she gets,” junior Sydney Ashner said.

After the disappointment of not making it out of substrate last year, this year they are striving not only to get out of substate, but go to the state tournament and advance as far as possible.

“It’s a great group of girls this year,” Ashner said. “We are really getting out our groove.”
