On Thursday March 30, the girls varsity soccer team took on their first game vs. Shawnee Mission North at Shawnee Mission North high school. The two teams battled head to head the whole game, with the Lancers scoring two goals in the first thirty minutes of the first half. In the second half, the Lancers scored at the beginning, with the Indians catching up, and tying the game 3-3 fifteen minutes into the second half. The two teams stayed tied until the lancers shot a corner kick to take back a 4-3 lead over the Indians with six minutes left in the game. The Lancers maintained their lead, winning the game against the Shawnee Mission North Indians, 4-3.

![For the first time in 10 years, East will have an all-female Student Council Executive Board for the 2024-25 school year.
The board consists of future senior and president Ingrid Blacketer, future junior and vice president Paige Bean, future junior and secretary Claire Polanco and future junior and treasurer Fina Kessler.
“We see each other once a week every week,” Blacketer said. “We set up together, we volunteer together and we volunteered at the can drive together. So we’ve always been in the same room [and] we’ve known each other for over a year now.”
