Gallery: Girls Varsity Soccer Defeats Olathe East 4-1

Keeping the lead throughout the game, girls’ varsity soccer defeated Olathe East 4-1 on Tuesday, May 2. In the first half, seniors Reese Birch and Ashley Koch scored a total of three goals, with Birch scoring the first goal of the game and Koch scoring the last two. Lancers finished the first half with a lead of 3-0. At halftime, to support SM East girls’ soccer, Lancer fans bought ice cream from the Fairway Creamery ice cream truck parked in front of the entrance. During the second half, senior Ashley Koch scored her third goal of the game, putting the Lancers at 4-0. Towards the end of the game, Olathe East was put on the scoreboard after making one goal, making the final score 4-1. This game put the girls’ varsity soccer team record at 11-2-0.

The girls’ varsity soccer team’s next Sunflower League game is on Thursday, May 4 against SM South at 7 p.m. located at SM South.

Going into his second and final year on the Harbinger, senior Ryan Dehan is coming into the new year with new responsibilities on the staff. Now a Photo Mentor, Staff Photographer and Video Producer, Ryan will be able to work on videos with the video crew, as well as shoot big sports games, pep assemblies and more. When Ryan isn’t in the back room of the J room, he is playing football, working out, hanging out with friends or playing soccer. On top of Harbinger, Ryan is a SHARE Exec, Link Crew Leader and he plays varsity football and runs track. »

Starting her third year on the Harbinger staff, junior Molly Miller is thrilled to get started as a photo mentor! In Molly’s free time you can find her playing soccer or tennis for high school or club teams and volunteering for an organization known as NCL. You can also find her listening to Taylor Swift (specifically Folklore) or hanging out with her friends! »
