Gallery: Girls Varsity and JV Swim Places First in District Meet

Girls Varsity and JV swim placed first by doubling the second-place score on Saturday, April 16. Only Shawnee Mission schools were invited to this meet. Shawnee Mission East scored 628 points, South scored 313 points, North scored 301 points, West scored 229 points and Northwest scored 210 points. East also placed first in every event at the meet. Varsity Swimmer sophomore Maggie Kissick said, “We normally don’t have JV and Varsity combined meets so being able to all be together was super fun to cheer each other on.”

Varsity’s next meet is Tuesday, April 19 at Blue Valley North and JV’s is Wednesday, April 27 at

Going into her second and final year on staff senior Lily Mantel is so excited to help new photographers the ways of Harbinger as a photo mentor. When Mantel is not on the sidelines shooting sports games she is involved in SHARE at East and could be found hanging out with her friends on the weekends. Lily is excited to spend her final year at East shooting sports games and events happening at SME and out in the community. »

Emily Pollock
Senior Emily Pollock is going into her last year on The Harbinger as a photo mentor. She is excited to spend her senior year at deadlines, in the J-room and on many photo adventures. Outside of The Harbinger she’s involved in tennis, swimming, DECA and lacrosse. When she isn’t shooting, you can find her at Starbucks, Barnes and Noble or hanging with her friends. Emily cannot wait to see what the year brings on The Harbinger. »
