SM Girls JV Lacrosse began their season facing off against St. James Academy, who they had previously fell to 11-3 during their first game of the 2025 season. The team also welcomed new coach Mae Beins for the 2026 season. Sophomore Sydney Roth scored the only two goals of the game but the team later fell to St. James Academy 7-2.

“I don't think the score reflected how well we played, it was a really good first game to figure things out as a team.” JV co-captain sophomore Harper Pendleton said.

“Coach has brought a new big on team culture vibe and the girls are really enjoying it.” JV co-captain sophomore Henley Ganz said.

The next JV SM girls lacrosse game is on Tuesday, March 31 vs. Lee's Summit West at 6:30 p.m. at the Shawnee Mission District Soccer Complex.
