After coming off a 3-0 win against Gardener Edgerton last week, boy varsity soccer faced off against SM West on Tuesday, Sept. 19 in a home game at SMAC. The teams were supposed to play each other as the first game of the season back in August, but was moved due to the extreme heatwaves. East gave up two goals in the start of the second half with a header scored by SM West off of a set piece and the second was a shot to the far post out of reach of junior goalkeeper Lukas Lowry. East scored their one and only goal of the night off of a assist from Senior Conor Neusel in the air to junior JJ Paben who headed the ball in to make it 2-1. The Lancers now have a record of 4-2 on the season and 2-1 in league play.
The Lancers are scheduled to play their next game on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at SMAC against Olathe South.

Sophomore Will Griffith is excited to start his second semester on staff with Harbinger. When Will isn't running down the sidelines to take a photo, you can usually find him playing goalie on a soccer pitch or in the outfield of a baseball diamond. Will also likes cooking foreign dishes and trying them and being involved in The Children's Place teen advisory board. »
