Gallery: Boys Varsity Soccer Falls to Rockhurst 3-2 in a penalty shootout, in the Final Round of the KAMO Tournament.

The Lancers faced off against Rockhurst in the first varsity soccer game against them since 1998 in the final round of the KAMO Tournament. During the first half of the game, neither team was able to score and make it on the board. Continuing into the second half, the score stayed at 0-0 at the end of regulation, going straight into a penalty shootout. Junior Quinn McCarthy was the first to attempt to score during the shootout, followed by senior team captains Wesley Cribb, Beck Rettenmaier and Connor Neusel and ending with junior George Hartman. In the end the Lancers fell to Rockhurst, only able to make two out of the five penalty goals. The team’s record now sits at 2-1.

Varsity is scheduled to play their next game on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. against SM Northwest at SMAC.

She’s a self-proclaimed energy-drink lover, a Chick-Fil-A enthusiast and considers herself a coffee connoisseur. »

When Will isn't running down the sidelines to take a photo, you can usually find him playing goalie on a soccer pitch or in the outfield of a baseball diamond. Junior Mason Sajna is excited for his third year on staff. As an equipment manager, photographer and multimedia staffer, Mason does a lot on the staff. Mason is pumped to see what this year has to bring, along with Cross Country, Track and Field and honors and AP classes. »
