Last Thursday night, the Lancers took their first win, with a final score of 33-8. Senior Tony Friends scored 4 out of the 5 touchdowns, and had 247 rushing yards and 80 receiving yards. For his next game, Friends wants to read the defense better and score even more than he did during this game. Junior Cole Long scored the 5th and final touchdown of the game. On the defensive line, junior Coleman Wham and sophomore Kyler Haughton both made 6 tackles during this game, and sophomore Ben Luetje made 8 assists. This win against the Ravens is preparing the team for their next game, which is the homecoming game, against Shawnee Mission Northwest on Friday, September 28.

Boys Varsity Football vs Olathe Northwest
![Forest elephant vs honey bee. Most people would say that the elephant has the easy victory in this situation but Junior Mallory Wilkerson decided to take the risk and side with the bee for one of the first rounds in the biology class March Mammals Madness competition.
The honey bee created an upset by not only beating the elephant in the first round but also defeating the Flame Bowerbird in the second round of the animal tournament. Wilkerson ended up winning the tournament in her IB Biology class with 82 points out of the possible perfect bracket 128.
“I did get into it and I looked up every single animal, and the how the weird battlefields worked or whatever the habitat was,” Wilkerson said. “Most of it was just applying some logic but [the March Mammal Madness tournament] was a fun and easy way to get some extra credit.”
