Gallery: Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Olathe East with Sweetheart Crowning

The Boys Varsity Basketball team was defeated Friday night by the Olathe East Falcons 68-61. The Lancers fought hard and had an initial lead in the first half, but lost it shortly after, bringing the halftime score to 30-24. During halftime, the Sweetheart crowning ceremony took place. Of the 24 candidates, seven were crowned and Sweetheart King and Queen were announced to be Davis Vaughn and Kiki Ehrich. “When the announcements were taking place and the attendants were announced and my name wasn’t called for either, my heart really started racing… It didn’t even register when my name was called that I was king. It was such a happy moment that I cannot express in words,” Vaughn said. King first attendant was Daniel Hammond and queen first attendant was Lauren Winston. Finally, King second attendant was Hanny Issawi and queens second attendant were Taylor Fort and Riley Kimmel due to a tie. The Sweetheart Dance is scheduled for Saturday night 8-10 p.m.
