Gallery: Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Lawrence

On Tuesday Feb. 21, 2017 the Shawnee Mission East varsity boys basketball team faced the Lawrence boys basketball team. Both teams challenging each other as the score bounced between the teams throughout the game.

At halftime, the Varsity Lancer Dancers performed their jazz routine that they will be competing with at nationals in Orlando, Florida. The Varsity Dance Team departs for nationals on March 2.

With less than a minute left on the clock, Lawrence brought the score to a tie with a two pointer shot. The game went into overtime, and, with tension growing between the Lancers and the Lions, East came through with a victory, 62-56.

Ellen Swanson is a senior at Shawnee Mission East and this will be her second year as a staff photographer. In addition to Harbinger Ellen is involved in share and DECA. In her free time Ellen enjoys spending time with her friends, shopping, and binge-watching Netflix. »

Maddie Smiley

Maddie Smiley is a senior at Shawnee Mission East and is the assistant online photo editor. This is Maddie’s third year on staff and she has loved every second of it. In front of the camera, Maddie is involved with theatre, tennis, Link Crew, SHARE and choir. On the weekends, you can find her at any ice cream shop in KC. Maddie is pumped to meet the new staffers and can’t wait to create an awesome publication. »

Katherine Odell

Katherine Odell is a senior at Shawnee Mission East and this will be her second year on staff as a staff photographer. In addition to Harbinger, Katherine is involved in Share, and a member of Deca. She enjoys spending her free time hanging out with friends, eating spin pizza, or binge-watching netflix. Katherine can’t wait for the year ahead and to meet new staff members. »

Lucy Morantz is a senior going into her third year on staff. Outside of Harbinger she is co-president of Young Democrats Club, on the Coalition Board, Student Voices co-founder, and in art club. In the off chance she is not shooting an event or editing pictures, she is likely in bed listening to music. »
