Gallery: Boys Varsity Basketball falls to Blue Valley NW 54-37

With seven varsity players out due to injury or quarantine, the boy’s varsity basketball team fell to Blue Valley Northwest 54-37 in the KU Med Sports and Performance tournament. It was the team’s first game of the season. For the duration of the first half, the team held their ground and were down 26-33 at halftime. The Lancers could not take the lead and lost the game 54-37. The following day, the Lancers fell to St. James Academy 54-53 in a 1-point game.

The team’s next game is on Friday, Dec 17 at 7 p.m. at home against Olathe East. This will be their first official game of the regular season.

Good luck finding her! In any spare time she has, there is a good chance she’s watching the sunset while listening to Taylor Swift, Celsius in hand. »

Senior Hadley Chapman is beyond excited for her fourth and final year on The Harbinger staff as co-head photo editor and can’t wait to soak up every last moment and memory she can from her second family. When she isn’t overthinking every photo from a recent shoot in the back room, you can find her in the SHARE room with her fellow execs, out on the tennis courts or wrangling her zoo of pets at home. Whether it’s brainstorming portraits or begging for validation from Tate, she will find any excuse to be in the J-room and hopes to give back as much to this staff as it has to her. »

Emily Pollock

Emily Pollock
Senior Emily Pollock is going into her last year on The Harbinger as a photo mentor. She is excited to spend her senior year at deadlines, in the J-room and on many photo adventures. Outside of The Harbinger she’s involved in tennis, swimming, DECA and lacrosse. When she isn’t shooting, you can find her at Starbucks, Barnes and Noble or hanging with her friends. Emily cannot wait to see what the year brings on The Harbinger. »

Kate Beaulieu

Senior Kate Beaulieu is going into her third and final year on Harbinger as a Staff Photographer. When Kate isn’t taking sports photos, specifically lacrosse ones, she can be found babysitting, rewatching 10 Things I Hate About You, and hanging out with friends. During school hours, Kate is taking AP classes, playing tennis, being social media coordinator for the Freelancer, being a chair for Unified Teams, and playing varsity lacrosse. »

Elle Siegel
Going into her third semester on The Harbinger, Assistant Photo Editor Elle Siegel is excited for new opportunities for her junior year! In addition to Harbinger, Elle is in the chamber choir at East, has been figure skating since she was three and takes photos for Quite Frankly the Band. She loves to sing, dance and drive to East to get the best view of the sunset with her older sister and her wheaten terrier-poodle mix, Lucky. »
