Gallery: Boys Varsity Basketball Falls to Blue Valley North 50-60

The boys varsity basketball team fell to BV North 60-50 in the third and final round of the Championship Showdown tournament. The Lancers previously defeated Schlagle and St. James Academy, advancing to the final round on Friday, Dec. 9. SM East led the first quarter, starting the second quarter ahead 13-10. BV North scored 21 points in the second quarter, putting the Lancers behind 31-14 at halftime. Closing the score gap to 4 points near the end of the fourth quarter, the Lancers were defeated 60-50 at the end of the game. The team’s leading scorer was senior Dillon Mong with a total of 20 points, followed by senior Spencer Blacketer.

The Lancer’s next game is against Lawrence at Lawrence High School this Friday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.
