Gallery: Boys Varsity Basketball Defeats SM West 64-60 in Sweetheart Game

Making a comeback, junior Dillon Mong makes free throw after free throw in the final minutes of the game, contributing to the Lancers’ sweetheart game win 64-60 against SM West Vikings. The Vikings started off strong and lead the first quarter 17-12. The Lancers stayed behind during the first half and were down 19-30 at halftime. During halftime, the Sweetheart Royalty was crowned and the family members of the candidates joined them on the court. Pushing offense, the Lancers remained down by 8 at the end of the third quarter. Head to head in the fourth quarter, the Lancers kept scoring and defeat the Vikings 64-60 in the final minutes of the game.

The next boys varsity basketball game will be played on Tuesday, Feb 8 at SM East against Lawrence at 7 p.m.

If you can’t reach her (and you probably won’t), Crosser is either at drill team choreo, Kansas City Ballet, AP and IB classes, NHS Service chair meetings, TCP President duties or at dive team. Good luck finding her! In any spare time she has, there is a good chance she’s watching the sunset while listening to Taylor Swift, Celsius in hand. »

Senior Lydia Coe is entering her second semester on staff as a photographer, and is excited to apply her new skills that she has learned in Dallas. Some other things Lydia is a part of are SHARE, DECA, National Honors Society, National Charity League and one of the new managers of East’s coffee shop, Columbia Brew. In her free time, you would catch her nannying, hanging out with friends, listening to music, going on walks or hosting at the South Plaza Mission Taco Joint. Lydia is very excited to see what this new semester holds. »
