The boys JV lacrosse team defeated rival Rockhurst High School 7-5 on Monday, March 28. The JV Lancers played Rockhurst’s C team due to Shawnee Mission East lacrosse only having JV and Varsity teams. The first goal of the game was scored by the Hawklets, roughly halfway through the first quarter. Sophomore Jack Kessler who is normally in goal, played offense and scored the first goal for the Lancers. The first period ended with a tied score of 2-2. The only goal scored in the second period was by freshman Dawson Ainslie, setting the score at half to 3-2. Throughout the third period, East kept the lead and finished 5-3. In the final period of the game, both teams scored two goals, finishing out for a Lancers win against the Hawklets.
The next Boys JV lacrosse game will be played on Thursday, March 31 against Rockhurst High School’s JV team. The game is at 5:00 p.m. at Westridge Middle School.
