Gallery: Boys JV Basketball Defeats SM South 67-54

In the final two minutes of the game, South’s JV Coach David Carlson got two technical fouls causing him to get kicked out of the game. Junior Ben Slicker shot and made all four free throws, contributing to the Lancer’s 67-54 victory on Monday, Jan. 24. East took an early 7-point lead in the first four minutes of the game; however, South was able to close the gap to two points, ending the first quarter 13-11. The Lancers went on an 18-3 run to end the first half 31-14. In the second half, East was able to hold their lead, resulting in their seventh victory.

The boys JV basketball team’s next game will be played on Friday, Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. at SM East against Rockhurst.

When Charlotte isn’t running around shooting events and editing photos, she enjoys hanging out with friends, going to Power Life and is on the Shawnee Mission East swim team. Lydia Coe
Senior Lydia Coe is entering her second semester on staff as a photographer, and is excited to apply her new skills that she has learned in Dallas. Some other things Lydia is a part of are SHARE, DECA, National Honors Society, National Charity League and one of the new managers of East’s coffee shop, Columbia Brew. In her free time, you would catch her nannying, hanging out with friends, listening to music, going on walks or hosting at the South Plaza Mission Taco Joint. Lydia is very excited to see what this new semester holds. »
