With Gardener Edgerton trailing for the majority of the game, the Lancers freshmen A team defeated Gardener by 1 point in the final 3 minutes. The first quarter ended with Gardener in the lead 9-3. East’s three points were scored on a three-pointer by freshman Quentin Ochs. The second quarter concluded with a 14-12 lead for the Lancers. Throughout the third and fourth quarter, the game was back and fourth and the third quarter ended 29-24 with the Lancers in the lead. At the final whistle, the Lancers defeated Gardener 40-39.
Boys freshmen A team will play their next game on Friday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m. away against Olathe North.
