Debate Tournament Results: Sunday, Sept. 27

At the Mid-America Cup debate tournament on Sunday, Sept. 29 in Des Moines, Iowa, the team of seniors Ada Throckmorton and Utsa Ramaswami placed fourth. The team of senior Karl Walter and his brother junior Henry Walter made it to quarterfinals, which includes the top eight teams.

Throckmorton and Ramaswami’s top four placement advanced them to semifinals, and allowed them to get a bid in the highly competitive Tournament of Champions (TOC). Two bids are required over the year for a team to compete in the TOC, which will be hosted by the University of Kentucky in May.
