Cross Country League was held last Saturday, Oct. 19 at Rim Rock farm in Lawrence, Kansas. The boys varsity team, led by freshman John Arnspiger placed 6 out of 11 teams. The girls varsity team placed 5 out of 12 teams, led by senior Annie Kuklenski with a time of 16:25. The girls ran a 4k, while the boys ran a 5k.
Arnspiger finished with a time of 17:13, followed closely behind by senior Jack McDonald with a time of 17:14. The two also placed in the top 20. Arnspiger placed 17 and McDonald placed 19 out of 84 runners.Kuklenski ended up placing 19 out of 88, also securing a medal.
“I felt great,” said McDonald. “It was the first time I ran on the varsity team at league championships and I’m very excited that I medaled.”
