The Chinese classes will host a Chinese Cabaret this Saturday, April 4 from one to three p.m. as a fundraiser for the program and a cultural experience. Admission is free, but there will be a silent auction and fundraising sales for students and families who wish to donate to the program.

The Cabaret will include calligraphy, face painting, fortune telling and arts and crafts activities. There will also be a display about Chinese culture and Chinese food will be available for purchase. Students from the Chinese classes will also be performing songs, dances and kung fu moves that they have been rehearsing in class, and they will end the Cabaret with a traditional costume fashion show.

“It”s a great way for the community to come together and learn about Chinese culture and have a great time, all while supporting Chinese club and Chinese education in the district,” said senior Chinese student Marlaina Kaine. “It’s really great because all the students in Chinese put a ton of work into cultural displays that we’re really excited to show to our peers.”
