Seniors Michael English and Ava Carroll were named Sweetheart King and Queen during the halftime of the boys varsity basketball game against Olathe North. The senior class nominated their choices for court, consisting of the top five girls and boys.
StuCo members work up the ten candidates on Jan. 27 to notify them of their nomination. The student body was able to vote for candidates all throughout the week of Feb. 2 using a Google form.
“It didn’t really feel like real life,” Carroll said. “My whole body froze, and I was surrounded by everyone in the sweetest way possible. I’m so grateful.”
