Breaking News: Student Council Officers Announced

The 2018-2019 StuCo Class Officers were announced April 19. Four representatives from each class were elected to be their classes’ president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. Out of the 26 candidates in total for all three classes, 12 were voted class officers.

“It’s always great to see a lot of candidates,” StuCo Sponsor Brenda Fishman said. “I liked seeing so many kids take interest in leadership.”

The following students are the newly elected 2018-2019 Class Officers:

 

Senior Class

President- Dane Erickson

Vice President- Will Thomas

Secretary- Annabelle Cook

Treasurer- Olivia Caponecchi

 

Junior Class

President- Emory Apodaca

Vice President- Caroline Chisholm

Secretary- Ian Gould

Treasurer- Walter Honnold

 

Sophomore Class

President- Kennedy Kaufman

Vice President- Sophie Rice

Secretary- Maisie Sheets

Treasurer- Wyatt Backer

 

According to Fishman newly-elected officers are welcome at the 2017-2018 meetings, but their official meetings and StuCo duties will begin in May 2018.

The 2018-2019 Freshman Class officers have not yet been elected.

A musical enthusiast and the ultimate scaredy cat, senior Caroline Chisholm is bittersweet about completing her fourth and final year on Harbinger Staff as co-Print Editor-In-Chief. When not diligently working on writing, designing or editing, you can find Caroline scrolling through Nordstrom’s website or laughing hysterically at her own jokes. Caroline’s athletic career at East includes four years of girls soccer and tennis. She enjoys being Vice President of her class on StuCo, volunteering with SHARE and competing in competitions with DECA. When not busy with all things East, she works at a children’s boutique and spends her time binging Summer House and Vanderpump Rules. »

Clara Von Drehle is a freshman on her first semester on staff. She’s a Homegrown editor and a staff writer. When not working with the Harbinger, she does choir and musical theatre. »
