Breaking News: Sheridan’s on 75th St. Temporarily Closed for Renovations

Sheridan’s Frozen Custard on 75th St. is temporarily closed for repairs and interior upgrades.

This was the original Sheridan’s location, opened by Jim Sheridan in 1998. After selling it to a franchisee a few years after opening, Sheridan just took back ownership. He plans to reopen in mid November after completing upgrades like creating a more open, brighter space within the shop and upgrading the signage.

“We’re really just trying to get it more inline with our other stores, get back out there and kind of re-own it,” new Sheridan’s manager Katie Murnan said to the Shawnee Mission Post. “It’s fun to re-open something, so he’s really going to be working on just getting back to his vision for it and making it something to be proud of and in line with our other stores.”

Sheridan’s has made a big impact on the East community. For senior Aislinn Kinsella, who lives around the corner from the frozen custard shop, it is a place full of many memories.

“During the school musical last year I went to Sheridan’s with my friends in between performances, even though it was about zero degrees outside and we stood outside in line to get our ice cream,” Kinsella said. “It was really cold but we really wanted Sheridan’s.”
